Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state and his Bayelsa state counterpart, Seriake Dickson., have canvassed for the export of the Ojude Oba festival organized yearly by the Ijebus through cultural tourism.
Both of them made the call at this year’s edition of the festival held in Ijebu Ode, with Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna state in attendance.
Commending the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona for sustaining the festival, Amosun promised that his admnistration would ensure it is listed on the global tourism.
The Governor applauded the Ijebus for using the Ojude Oba Festival to continuing launch Ogun state into the global consciousness, adding that it has created a cultural template for others to follow.
Also, Governor Dickson who is a descendant of a princess from one of the ruling houses for Awujale stool, said the nation needs to protect its diversity through the promotion of its diverse cultural to the world.
Governor El-Rufai, who regarded the Awujale as a father, admired his courage and leadership competence in leading the Ijebus to organize the festival, prayed the Awujale would be alive to witness the creation of the Ijebu state which he has been clamouring for.

One of the highlights of the cultural festival is paying of homage to the Awujale by over 35 age groups.
