Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has read a riot act to the President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, who is scheduled to lead workers protest march in Abeokuta on Friday.
Wabba is scheduled to lead labour leaders and workers in the State in the rally to protest the pending labour related issues with the State Government.
Amosun, reacting to the planned rally on a radio programme on Thursday, says the proposed rally has political undertone.
He asks the NLC President to stay away from the State, or he will regret it visiting the State for such a rally.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State NLC says the scheduled protest rally has been shifted till March 5.
The State Secretary of the Congress, Ayoade Timothy, in a release says the shift in the date was due to unforeseen circumstances.
The pending issues that the NLC President is scheduled to lead labour leaders in the State on a protest march to press for the resolution of issues with the State Government, include:
*unpaid 104 months statutory deductions from the salaries of civil servants in the State,
*gratuities owed to retired civil servants in the State,
*reinstating of the State NLC Chairman, Akeem Ambali,
*the dismissal of union executives of the Ogun State College of Education, Omu Ijebu, and the suspension of union activities in the college.
