Alamuwa Grammar School, Ado-odo has emerged champions of the Boys category of 2016, Ogun State Principals’ Cup.
Alamuwa defeated Methodist Comprehensive College, Sagamu, 2-1 in the final of the competetion played at the mko, Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta to emerge champion.
Alamuwa took the lead in the 2nd minute of the match, scoring the second goal 11 minutes into the second half, before Methodist Comprehensive College pulled one back in the added time of the match from the penalty spot.
Muslim High School, Isolu, Abeokuta, emerged champion in the Girls category, after defeating Iganmode Grammar School, Ota three goals to two, in a thrilling final match.
Muslim high school took the lead in the 4th minute, through Olajumoke Abideen, while Simiat Adeniji doubled the lead a minute later.
Iganmode Grammar School pulled one back in the 17th minute, while Muslim High School extended their lead to 3-1 in the 28th minute, through Olajumoke Abideen.
Iganmode Grammar School reduced the lead to 3-2, scoring the second goal in the 53rd minute.
Ope Elijah was voted the most valuable player in the boys category, while Olajumoke Abideen was voted as the most valuable player in the female category.
Dignitaries at the final include, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, his deputy, Mrs Yetunde Onanuga, his wife, Olufunso Amosun, represented by the special adviser to him on women affairs, Mrs Nike Osoba, Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Afolabi Afuape and the state Head of Service, Elder Sola Adeyemi.
