The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently intervene in the growing insecurity challenges in the south west region.
The top Yoruba monarch, making the call in a letter sent to Buhari, says there is growing feeling of frustration and disappointment among people residing in the region.
The Alaafin citing the recent security challenge, including high profile abduction in the region, warns that the growing level of disaffection if not addressed, could lead to other serious security challenges.
The monarch says, people in the south west are worried over the audacity of criminal elements operating in the region, in carrying out their activities without being challenged by security agencies.
