Governor Abiola Ajimobi has approved the creation of 35 new Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) in Oyo state.
The state Justice Commissioner has been directed to send a bill to the State House of Assembly, to give legal backing to the proposed councils to enable them take off.
The Governor’s Chief of Staff, Doctor Gbade Ojo, who made this known at a news conference in Ibadan, said Ajimobi’s approval was in line with the Oyo state government gazette, issued in 2013 which created the councils.
The Ibadan zone will get 14 of the proposed 35 LCDAs, Oyo (4), Ibarapa (2), Ogbomoso (7), and Oke Ogun (8).
