Airforce jets hit Boko Haram targets

Combat planes of the Nigerian Air Force have hit several targets in northern parts of Borno State in the clearance operations against the remnants of Boko Haram fighters in the North East Region.

Airforce Spokesman, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, in a statement said two Chinese made F-7NI fighter planes were involved in the operation to assist the ground forces in the region.

He said the warplanes hit the targets between Tumbum Rego and Maikonoy, 25 Kilometres from Kangarwa.

The Airforce recently deployed F-7NI and alpha fighter planes to the region to consolidate the security forces advances on the remaining bases of terrorists in Sambisa forest.
