Nigerian Airforce says its planes have destroyed hideouts of Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) in a fresh raid on insurgents bases in Lake Chad axis OF Borno State.
Some of the insurgents died and vehicles were destroyed in the attacks on the ISWAP hideouts and structures at Aririnna Chiki on the fringe of Lake Chad Basin.
Airforce Spokesman, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, in a statement on sunday, said the raids were carried out last friday and saturday.
Daramola explained that the warplanes launched the first raid last friday following intelligence that the insurgents were gathering to use the location as a staging point to attack Nigerian Security Forces in the area.
