Abiodun administration has dissociated itself from the n15.8 billion spent by the Ogun State government on road projects in the first six months of this year.
The state government in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin says the n15.8 billion was spent on the road projects by the Amosun administration.
Somorin explains that Governor Dapo Abiodun assumed office in June this year, so could not have spent such huge amount on road projects.
Permanent Secretary in the Works and Infrastructure Ministry, Kayode Ademolake, while hosting a house of assembly committee monitoring the implementation of the 2019 budget, says the fund was spent on road construction and rehabilitation between January and June.
Ademolake also told the committee of lack of funds to complete the ongoing major road projects in Abeokuta and other parts of the state.
Somorin says that Dapo administration could not spent n15.8 billion on projects that could not be justified and which violate the globally accepted standard.
