ABIA GOV CRISIS: Ikpeazu petitions CJN

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has asked the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, to investigate a Federal High Court Justice, Okon Abang, who ordered him to vacate office for Doctor Uche Ogah.

The Governor in a letter to Nigeria’s Chief Justice, accused Justice Abang of abusing the judicial process, which according to him had thrown Abia State into turmoil, political uncertainty and a total breakdown of law and order.

Ikpeazu further accused justice Abang of enrolling a seven page order and delivered it to Doctor Ogah to prevent an appeal against his verdict removing him from office.

Governor Ikpeazu also alleged that Justice Abang has failed to release the court file to the registry of the federal high court for the compilation of records, and failing to make available the signed copies of his judgement despite repeated demands for it.
