Ninety eight fresh cases of suspected Lassa fever has been recorded in eleven states, including Ogun.
11 out of the reported 98 cases had been confirmed in a laboratory.
Director General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Doctor Chikwe Ihekweazu, who made this known in Abuja, says the fresh cases were reported from 11 local government areas of the 11 states.
Edo state, according to him, tops the list with 50 cases, Ondo with 20 cases, Ebonyi (seven), while Ogun, Plateau, Gombe, Kano and Delta states recorded one case each.
Meanwhile, 83 cases of cholera had been uncovered by the centre in three local government areas of the state.
14 of the cholera cases, according to the Director General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Doctor Chikwe Ihekweazu, had been confirmed in laboratory.
Ihekweazu says no death had been recorded so far.
