Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, says it now has 80 million people on its voter register, ahead of the 2019 polls.
The new figure, follows the registration of 10 million new voters in the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise.
Inec Chairman, Professor Mamoud Yakub, made this known at a consultative meeting with security agencies in Abuja.
The new 10 million voters, according to him, were registered between April 2017 and June 2018.
The continuous registration is expected to end in August.
The collection of permanent voter cards PVCs, however, will continue until a week to the commencement of general elections on February 16, 2019.
