Fifty three people have been feared dead in a boat which capsized on River Niger in Kebbi state
The boat conveying 100 passengers to a market in Lolole capsized at Bagudo.
Chairman of Bagudo Local Government, Alhaji Mohammed Zaga, briefing newsmen said 49 out of the 100 passengers were rescued, while the remaining 53 could not be accounted for.
He explained that most of the traders were Gaya village in Niger Republic.
“Majority of the traders are from Gaya Village in Niger Republic. They were going to a market in Lolo when their boat capsized,” he said.Please subscribe to our newsletter [mc4wp_form id="10101"]
