40 more Nigerians deported from Italy

Botswana to deport anti-gay pastor

Another batch of Nigerians have been deported from Italy for various immigration offences.

The deported Nigerians, numbering 40, were airlifted into Murtala Muhammad International Airport Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday night.

While there was no official reason given for their deportation, it was however learnt that the government of Italy sent 39 of them back to Nigeria for offences bordering on immigration while one of them is said to have issues with drug dealings.

They arrived aboard a chartered flight.

The deportees were received by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, and the Police.

Four days ago, the United Kingdom also deported 23 Nigerians
