Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), said the electricity generation and supply disrupted by shortage in gas supply to power plants, will be normalized before Thursday.
Ahead of the deadline, the company said the electricity generation has risen to 3,876 megawatts by 5 pm on Monday.
The gas supply shortage, which was caused by rupture in the gas pipeline network, which forced the shutdown of six of the major power plants, cut one thousand, 84 megawatts of electricity from the national grid.
TCN in a statement by its spokesperson, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, said that technicians of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) had fixed the ruptured gas pipeline.
The company explained that gas supply to the power plants shut down is gradually building up, adding that, within a day or two, the generation and distribution of electricity will be normalised.
