Thirty people have died and 42 others injured, in a fresh suicide bomb attack in Borno State.
The attack took place at Konduga, 38 kilometres to Maiduguri.
Three suicide bombers detonated improvised explosive device strapped to their bodies outside a hall where football fans were watching a match on a television.
Head of Operation of the State’s Emergency Management Agency, Usman Kachala, says the suicide bomb attack occurred Sunday night, when the owner of the hall attempted to stop one of the bombers from entering the packed hall.
In the heat of argument between them, the bomber detonated the improvised explosive device strapped to his body, blowing him into pieces.
The explosion also killed the hall’s owner and several others.
Two other suicide bombers who mixed with the crowd at a nearby tea stall also detonated the explosives on their bodies, leaving several others dead and injured.
Konduga has been targeted before. In July 2018, eight people were killed after a suicide bomber detonated explosives in a mosque.
