The Nigerian Army says 26 out of top officers who attended the 2020 Chief of Army Conference last week in Abuja, have so far tested positive for Covid 19
The shocking discovery was made in the wake of the death of the general officer commander of sixth division of the army in Port Harcourt, Major General Johnson Irefin, after testing positive for the virus
The late general also was at the conference which was cancelled after he died from the virus
Army Acting Director of Public Relations, Brigadier General Sagir Mohammed, in a statement on Sunday, says that a total of 417 senior officers had been tested so far for the virus
He explains that twenty six out of them tested positive for the virus as at Sunday According to him, all officers who participated in the conference are still in self isolation, irrespective of their Covid 19 status
