Political parties in Ogun State have been warned against conducts or activities capable of disrupting the 2019 polls in the state.
Also, politicians in the state are warned against making speeches capable of causing confusion or undermining the integrity of the polls.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (South West), Agboola Oshodi Glover, who issued the warning, at the Ogun State police command headquarters in Abeokuta, asks political parties to abide by the guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Glover, explained that police will not tolerate political thuggery, defacing or removal of posters of any opposition parties, hate speeches, vote buying, among others.
The deputy inspector general of police also directs the State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, to embark on the immediate arrest and prosecution of any politician or their supporters found with illegal firearms.
He asked the police commissioner not to be involved in partisan politics or bias towards any political party or politician.
