2019: PDP candidate accuses NWC of blocking unity of Ogun members

Ogun state PDP governorship candidate, Senator Buruji Kashamu, has accused the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), of not working for the unification of PDP members in the state, ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The NWC, according to Kashamu, is backing Ogun state PDP governorship aspirant, Honourable Oladipupo Adebutu, because he did not support Governor Nyesom Wike, during the last national convention in Abuja.

The PDP candidate, however said, he will not defect from PDP, despite his purported expulsion by NWC, and being wooed by other parties, including APC.

Kashamu, speaking in an interview with Rockcity Fm news, blames today’s crisis in Ogun state PDP on Adebutu, by creating an illegal state executive committee, to undermine the Bayo Dayo led executive committee, recognized by courts, and whose mandate will expire in 2020.

Describing Adebutu as a brother, Kashamu said, he once belonged to his political structure called ‘omo ilu foundation,’ which he alleges gave him the ticket to win election into the House of Representatives.

The PDP candidate, accusing Adebutu of betrayal, said he never told him he had governorship ambition.

Kashamu pleads with all PDP members in Ogun state to forget their differences, and join hands now, to ensure that PDP wins the 2019 polls in the state.

The senator said, he had been speaking with PDP stakeholders in the Ogun west, Ogun east and Ogun central to spread the message of peace.

The PDP candidate, however, explained that as at today, he is the authentic Ogun state governorship candidate.
