2019: Governor Lalong raises the alarm over piling of arms in Plateau

Dawn-to-dusk curfew imposed on Jos following rumored ethnic clashes

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has alerted of the piling up of arms and ammunition by some people, to fight during the state’s local government poll and the 2019 polls.

He said the state’s local government poll was put on hold, following an advice from the state security council, over the situation.

Lalong who raised the alarm at a media chat with newsmen in Jos, said that security agencies know where the arms and ammunition are being stockpiled.

He asked those piling up the weapons to submit them in return for a pardon, otherwise the security agencies will raid the hideouts where the illegal weapons are being stockpiled.
