2018 World Cup: Nigeria, Poland to play friendly in March

Rohr targets 11 points for super eagles from ‘Group of Death’

Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr has disclosed that his team will play against Poland on March 23, 2018 in an international friendly in preparation for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Nigeria has been drawn in Group D alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland in the FIFA tournament, and the game against Poland which would be played in the Polish city of Wroclaw is designed as a tune up.

Rohr quoted on French website football365.fr said, “Croatia is capable of great things with a team of stars playing in the biggest clubs.

“This is the most important match, and we hope to prepare for it against opponents similar to Croatia.”

Rohr added that the Eagles are hoping to play another friendly in Europe, and so, they are currently looking for a second opponent for another FIFA date in the spring.

Poland is also playing at the World Cup, and has been drawn alongside Senegal, Japan and Colombia.

Meanwhile, about a camping site for the Super Eagles in preparations for the tournament, Rohr said they chose a base camp in Southern Russia, between Sochi and Volgograd.
