A suspected cultist leader, Daniel Bartholomew, is now in the custody of police in Ogun State.
The 19-year-old suspect, has been on the wanted list of the police, in connection with various cultist clashes in Lusada, Agbara and Igbesa in the Yewa axis of the state.
Spokesman of the State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was arrested during a stop-and-search police patrol, opposite the Crawford University in Igbesa.
On sighting the police team, Oyeyemi explained that the suspect who was on a motorcycle, made a sharp U-turn and was chased by policemen, who eventually arrested him.
The Police Spokesman said the suspect had allegedly confessed to being a top member of the Eiye confraternity.
Oyeyemi said, “The suspect has made a confessional statement that he is a leading member of the dreaded Eiye confraternity.”
The state Police Commissioner, Ahmed Ilyasu, according to him, had ordered the transfer of the suspect to the Federal Anti-Robbery Squad for investigation.Please subscribe to our newsletter
