19 states provide land for Mass Housing Programme

Ogun and 18 other State Governments have so far agreed to provide land for the proposed Federal Government Mass Housing Project for implementation during the 2016 fiscal year.

Other states are Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Osun, Jigawa, Kwara, Kogi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Adamawa, Yobe, Benin, Bauchi, Plateau, Abia, Anambra And Akwa Ibom.

Chairman of Technical Committee on National Housing in the Federal Ministry of Works, Sani Gidado, made this known during the presentation of the housing programme to the National Assembly committee.

He said N35.6 billion is provided in the 2016 budget for the implementation of the first phase of the project.

Gidado said the Ministry’s technical team is ready for the implementation of the mass housing programme in all the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory.
