116 Nigerians killed in South Africa

About 116 Nigerians were killed through extra-judicial process last year in South Africa.

Special Adviser to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said that 70 per cent of the 116 Nigerians were killed by the South African police.

The Special Adviser speaking at a meeting with the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Lulu Mnguni, in Abuja, regards the rate of extra judicial killing of Nigerians in South Africa as worrisome.

The Presidency, she added, is also disturbed by the criminalizing of Nigerian immigrants in South Africa.

The High Commissioner apologised for the killed Nigerians in South Africa and hope that Nigeria and South Africa will meet to find a lasting solution to the development.
