11 killed, 91 injured in Ogun, Edo road crashes

Two die, seven injured in Ogun auto crash

Four persons have been killed in an Autocrash along Sagamu-Ijebu Ode segment of the Lagos-Benin city expressway.

The accident which occurred 4.45 am on Wednesday, near the Ijebu Ode toll gate, involved a Mack truck marked XB 111 LSD and a Ford bus whose number plate is LSL 766 XS.

Ogun State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Clement Oladele, told newsmen in Abeokuta, that the accident was caused by the driver of the truck, who according to him, lost control of the vehicle.

The FRSC sector commander said four passengers in the bus which was conveying woods and passengers were momentarily trapped in the vehicle.

The remains of those killed in the auto crash had been deposited in the morgue of Ijebu Ode General Hospital.

In another development, 7 persons died and 91 injured in various auto crashes which occurred across Edo State during the Christmas and Boxing Day.

Most of the accident occurred in the night at Benin Bye Pass, near Benin City

Edo state sector commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samuel Odukoya, made this known to newsmen in Benin City.

He cautioned motorists to be careful while driving in the night.
