1.85M APPLICANTS TO WRITE 2016 UTME

Joint admission matriculation board (JAMB) says more than 1.85 million candidates are set to write the 2016 unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) on the computer based test mode, taking off on Saturday.

The figure, according to JAMB registrar, professor Dibu Ojerinde, is far higher than 1.47 million who wrote the 2015 edition of the examination.

Imo State has the highest number of candidates, while the Federal Capital Territory has the least number of applicants.

The examination will take place in 521 centres in Nigeria and eight other countries, including ghana, cameroun, Saudi Arabia, Benin Republic, the UK, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Ivory Coast.
