Women AFCON: Former Super Falcons Coach Raises Hope of Nigeria’s Qualification

Former Super Falcons head coach Edwin Okon has described the side’s group b draw at the upcoming Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Cameroon as easy.

The AWCON draw on Sunday at the Palais Polyvalent des Sports, Yaounde, Cameroon pitched the cup-holders Nigeria in Goup B together with arch-rivals Ghana, Mali and Kenya.

The biennial football showpiece is expected to kick off on Saturday, 19 November in Cameroon.

Okon said that the nine-time African Champions are assured of easy qualification from the group once they are able to get their act together with good preparations.

The Super Falcons defeated bitter rivals the indomitable lionesses of Cameroon 2-0 in the 2014 finals at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek, Namibia to lift their ninth African Title.
