Wandel International Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of an Indian automobile firm ‘Simba‘, has unveiled two motorcycles.
The TVS XL-100 and TVS NEO-XR brand motorcycles, according to the company are targeted at local farmers in the Nigerian market.
The motorcycles were designed with special features to suit the needs of rural farmers who constitute over 80% of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
The head of Two-Wheelers Section of the automobile firm, Ritesh Kumar Nair said the new brands of the motorcycles will offer a new option for farmers to overcome their long standing issues.
“This new brands of Simba motorcycles are targeted at farmers in remote communities with varying challenges of access roads, so that they could have alternative means of transporting their farm produce to the market,” Nair said.
“We observed that because of their low income level, few among them that could afford motorcycles are buying used vehicles imported from other countries, because of that we are introducing these new brands at the same price they are buying old ones.”Please subscribe to our newsletter
