UTME candidates protests against the conduct of JAMB

Hundreds of candidates who wrote the 2016 edition of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have staged protests against the conduct of the examination by the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The protesters, who were joined by some of their parents and members of the tutorial Centres in Ilorin and Lagos, demanded the sack of JAMB registrar, Professor Dibu Ojerinde, and the cancellation of this year’s examination.
Among other complaints, they faulted the marking scheme adopted, whereby most of them received several conflicting scores from JAMB, while others claimed they received scores for subjects they did not register for.
Another major complaint was the frequent shutdown of computers in the computer based test (CBT) centres during the examination which they claimed wasted their time.
Jamb countering the allegations, accused those it called education consultants whose CBT centres it disqualified from participating in the registering candidates of sponsoring the protest marches
