Also Asks FG to buy Surplus Grain from Farmers

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has asked the Presidency to stop the ongoing massive export of foodstuff from Northern States to neighbouring Countries.

The Governor also asked the Presidency to immediately introduce a programme to purchase the surplus grain harvested from farmers to increase the nation’s grain reserves.

In the past weeks, there have been reports of scores of trucks from Benin, Niger, Chad Republics entering the Northern State to convey purchased foodstuff, following the bumper harvest recorded in several States in the North West.
