The Presidency has pleaded with the National Assembly to quicken its deliberation and passage of the 2018 Appropriation Bill.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, who made the call also pleaded with the federal ministries and departments to appear promptly before the National Assembly to defend their 2018 budgetary allocations.
As the last budget of Buhari administration, he explained that early passage of the bill will enable it meet promises made to the electorate during the 2015 polls.
Mustapha, appearing before the Senate committee on federal character and inter-governmental relations, said the time is very short for the effective implementation of the 2018 budget.
According to him, 2018 is the election year, which means that political activities will begin in February, and political office holders have up till November to fully implement this year’s budget.
By November, Mustapha said politicians will engage in political activities and have little time for budget implementation. Please subscribe to our newsletter
