Police track gunmen who attack Lagos Model College
Police say they have received a critical lead in their investigation of the kidnapping of four people, including principal, a teacher and two students by gunmen, from the Government Model College in Igbo-Nla, near Epe in Lagos state.
Security forces, including policemen, soldiers, naval personnel and operatives of the department of security service had launched a manhunt for the gunmen, who invaded the college on Thursday, through the waterway in the area.
Lagos state Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, addressing parents and relatives of those abducted at the college’s premises, said the useful lead they had, and has raised the hope of rescue of the victims in the shortest time.
The state Deputy Governor, Idiat Adebule, also pleaded with hundreds of parents who besieged the college to withdraw their children, not to do so, or they would complicate the security issue.
