Police re-opens PDP secretariat

The national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) shut down by the police has been re-opened for business.

The secretariat was re-opened following the pull-out of armed policemen who have been occupying it in the past one week, following the emergence of factional interim national chairmen of PDP from their last disputed national convention in Port Harcourt.

Following the disputed national convention, the inspector general of police, Solomon Arase, deployed armed policemen to take over the PDP national headquarters until the leadership crisis is resolved.

Head of publicity department at the PDP headquarters, Chinwe Nnorom, in a statement, said the secretariat has re-opened and the staff would be addressed by secretary to the party Board of Trustees, Chief Ojo Maduekwe.
