Former Governor Olusegun Osoba has said he is collecting only N676, 000 monthly pension, since his exit as a former Ogun State governor in 2003.
He said the pension is far below the outrageous pensions being collected by some former governors in other states of the federation.
Osoba, speaking in an interview with newsmen at his Ikoyi home in Lagos, said the N676, 000 pension, is in line with the provisions of the Revenue Mobilization And Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The N676, 000 monthly pension, according to the former governor, can neither sustain him or even fuel his car in a month, adding that, the tax he paid into the coffers of the state is far more than what the state government is paying him.
He recalled that, it took the intervention of top traditional rulers and citizens of the state, before the Gbenga Daniel administration paid his entitlement as a former governor.
Osoba also said he has never benefited from the provision of RMAFC, that the car of former governors and their deputies must be changed every three years, except when he clocked 70 years, nine years ago.
The former governor also said he refused to make demand from the state government as stipulated by RMAFC, for his medical bills, including the £100,000, he spent in treating himself recently in some hospitals in UK.Please subscribe to our newsletter
