Ogun state government says it intends to source additional fund from the Fadama programme to boost agriculture programme in the state.
Agriculture consultant to the state governor, Mrs Ronke Onadeko, stated this in an interview with newsmen, after governor Ibikunle Amosun met with the consultants from the world bank at the governor’s office in Abeokuta.
she says the world bank consultants rates Ogun state high in agriculture.
on its part, Onadeko says the state government promises to put in participants from each of the state’s 20 local government areas in the Fadama programme to create new jobs and improve agriculture production in the state.
the Fadama programme task leader, doctor Adetunji Oredipe, says they are looking forward to be involved in the massive cultivation in rice and cassava in the state.
he says farmers in the state will soon get financial support through Fadama, adding that the state government is ready to provide its counterpart funding.
