OGUN STATE CIVIL SERVANTS SUSPEND THEIR 10-DAY OLD STRIKE FOR 14 DAYS

Ogun state civil servants, including teachers, have suspended their 10-day old strike against the state Government’s delay in remitting deductions from their salaries,
The organized labour, however, warned that workers would be mobilized for another round of strike in the next two weeks, if the government fails to enter into fresh talks on how to refund the deductions..
The joint national public service negotiating council in a statement on Wednesday night, said the strike is being suspended, following intervention by the Alake of Egbaland, the Awujale of Ijebuland, and The Olu of Ilaro, as well as the state’s retired heads of service and permanent secretaries.
The Labour leaders, including those of the Nigeria Labour congress, trade union congress and the national union of local government employees, said the suspension of the strike for two weeks, was to pave the way for a fresh negotiation within 14 days.
