Ogun allocates makeshift stalls at Itoku market, Abeokuta

Ogun State Government has allocated 650 makeshift stalls constructed under the Itoku flyover bridge in Abeokuta, to traders displaced for the expansion of road and the construction of shopping malls in the area.

The allocation of the stalls took place at the arcade ground in the Governor’s Office at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, with several of the traders in attendance.

Works and Infrastructure Commissioner, Architect Lekan Adegbite speaking to newsmen after the allocation, said the makeshift stalls were constructed to ease the pains of the traders, whose shops were demolished for road expansion and shopping malls projects.

He added that makeshift stalls being constructed under the Sapon flyover bridge, will be allocated to displaced traders who cannot afford the shopping mall in the area.

Adegbite said the makeshift stalls will be replicated under other flyover bridges in the state.
