The Ogun State house of assembly is to hold public hearing on the proposed 37 local council development areas for each of the state senatorial districts in the state.
The public hearing is scheduled to hold between March 22 and March 24 at the assembly complex in Abeokuta.
The speaker, Suraj Adekunmbi who announced this during the house resumed plenary, said the proposed public hearing would begin with Ogun East Senatorial District on March 22, Ogun Central Senatorial District (March 23) while it will be the turn of Ogun West Senatorial District on March 24.
Meanwhile, the bill on the proposed local council development areas has gone through the second reading in the house of assembly.
Opening debate on the bill, house majority leader, Adeyinka Mafe, said it will further bring government closer to the people, while the Deputy Speaker, Kunle Oluomo said it would make its officials more creative in generating revenue.
In another development, the house has received more petitions from communities, protesting against the composition of the proposed 37 local council development areas in Ogun state.
The latest petitions are from Idofoi, Ipaya, Owo and Obada communities in the Yewa North, who protested their inclusion in the proposed Oke-Ogun lcda and Afon LSCDA.
The bale of Idofoi, Ipaya and Owo communities, Olatunji Abioro who submitted the petitions to the house, said they wished to remain in the Yewa North Local Government Area, and not in Oke Ogun LCDA, while Obada community led by Senior Apostle Benjamin Oluwole, also wants to remain in the Yewa north instead of afon LCDA
