NPFL MatchDay 14: Lobi Stars come from behind to beat visiting Rivers United

Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi have beaten visiting Rivers United 3-2 in a Nigeria Professional Football League match played at the Aper Aku Stadium.

Ezekiel Uba gave the hosts the lead in the 15th minute of the match, Salifu Oche scored in the 20th and 32nd minutes to put Rivers United in the driving seat.

Austine Ogunye restored parity in the 50th minute, before scoring the winning goal through a penalty kick in the last minute of added four minutes.

The win took Lobi Stars to 26 points from eight wins, two draws and four losses in 14 matches, moving to the top of the table in the process.

Also, a converted Chile Azu spot kick in added time ensured the Matchday 14 fixture between Go Round FC and Enugu Rangers ended 2-2.

Rangers raced into the lead in the 8th minute when forward Ifeanyi George bent a Freekick beyond Stanley Nwaebili in goal for the visitors.

George would go on to double rangers’ lead in the 24th minute heading in from close range off an Ajani Ibrahim assist.

Go Round however pulled a goal back when Pointman Okon Otop scored from close range following some fancy footwork from Nelson Esor.

Chile Azu converted a penalty in added time to complete the comeback for go round after the lively Otop was brought down in the Rangers box.
