Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has said Nigeria needs a strong leader to bail it out of its socio-economic and political crisis.
Jonathan spoke on the leadership crisis, at the memorial lecture of Professor Celestine Onwuliri, at Nnarambia, in the Ahaiazu Mbaise local government area of Imo State.
The type of leader that Nigeria needs now, according to the former president, must have an uncommon knowledge of the country and wisdom.
Also, Jonathan who was represented at the lecture by a former secretary to the government of the federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, said such a leader must have the determination to implement the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference.
Jonathan explained that, the problems facing Nigeria is so complex that only a structural adjustment and a wholisitic diagnosis, could find right answers to them.
“People have said a lot of things about the problems of Nigeria. There is no point joining issues with anybody, but all I can say is that no one person can solve the nation’s problems,” Jonathan said.
