NFF names coaching crew for female U-17 team

Nigeria to play Ethiopia or Kenya in U-17 Women's World Cup qualifiers

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has re-appointed Bala Nikyu, as Head Coach of the Under-17 Women National Team, the Flamingoes.

The Wikki Tourists Coach, will be returning for his third spell back to the Flamingoes set up, after his first two terms in 2014 and 2016.

Nikyu led the women cadet team to the 2014 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, where the team were knocked out in the Quarter Finals.

The former Katsina United Coach’s second term, with the national team, wasn’t a pleasant outing, as the Flamingoes crashed out in the group stages of the 2016 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan and failed to record a single goal in three matches.

Nikyu will be assisted by Former Nigerian International, Toyin Ayinla, who is the first assistant coach; Ajuma Peter Otache, who is the second assistant coach and; Christian Obi, who will serve as the Goalkeeper Trainer.
