An elder statesman, Alhaji Maitama Sule, has called for a ban of public office holders convicted of looting public treasury from participating in partisan politics.
Maitama Sule who is a former Nigeria’s permanent representative to the united nations, also said such public officers should not hold public office again.
Making the call in an interview, Maitama Sule said a bill should be sent to the national assembly to give a legal backing to the proposal.
He also called for a law to empower the presidency to utilize the fund recovered from treasury looters by anti-graft agency to improve the living standard of Nigeria.
