Lagos residents consume N3BN food daily

The daily food bill of residents of Lagos has been put at N3 billion.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode made this known at the maiden edition of food security and exhibition summit.

The governor said to feed the state’s growing population, his administration entered into a strategic partnership with Kebbi State Government for planting of rice, wheat, groundnut, onion, maize and beef value chain.

Ambode added that the State acquired 500 hectare of land in Ogun State for rice cultivation and 84.7 hectare of land in Osogbo for oil palm production.
