Governor Amosun Proposes Two More Appointments into His Cabinet

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State says he will appoint a commissioner for women affairs and social development and a special adviser on students affairs into his cabinet next week

The appointment will raise the number of commissioners in the cabinet to 20, while the special advisers will increase to more than 20.

The governor who announced the proposed appointments in Abeokuta, while answering questions at an interaction with the civil societies organizations, said the shortlisted names for the two positions would be sent to the state house of assembly for consideration.

The programme was attended by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi, lawmakers, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo, the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, and members of the state executive council .

 

Meanwhile Governor Amosun said his administration is awaiting the electoral schedule of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, for the conduct of local government polls in the state.

Amosun said it was the responsibility of the commission to fix a date for the poll, while the state government provides adequate resources for the conduct of the poll.

He added that people of the state will begin to enjoy the activities of the newly created local council development areas as from next year.
