FUNAAB re-opens amidst senior staff protests
Academic activities have resumed at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), following its re-opening, after more than one month shutdown following students’ unrest
When Rockity FM visited the Alabata campus of the university, few of the lecturers were taking their classes, while students have started paying their reparation fee of N5,000, upon their return.
Meanwhile, members of the university chapter of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) have also continued their protests against the institution’s vice chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole.
The chairman of SSANU, Fasunwon Olurotimi, who spoke to RockCity FM, said despite the two week old protests, they are still open to dialogue and negotiations on their demands which include the suspension of the vice chancellor and recall the suspended three members of the association.
