Fulani herdsmen held for killing colleague

Two Fulani herdsmen are now in Police Net in Ogun State for allegedly killing another Fulani herdsman in the Obafemi Owode Local Government area of the state.

The arrest came barely a week after police arrested Six Fulani herdsmen who kidnapped a Fulani herdsman at Imeko Afon in the Yewa axis of the State.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the Fulani herdsmen identified as Adbdullahi Anaruwa and Mohammed Suleiman, were arrested at Itadodo area of Ofada, for allegedly committing the murder in an attempt to still the cows in his care.

Oyeyemi said the suspects met the deceased, Garuba Mohammed while grazing with his cattle with two other herdsmen and lured him into a nearby bush where they Macheted him to death on the 28th of October.

The police image-maker said they were arrested when a commercial motorcycle who saw them, alerted people who called the Police led by the Divisional Police Officer in-Charge of Owode Egba Divison, Sheu Alao to arrest the killer herdsmen.

The state police commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence for further investigations.
