FRSC: Imported Commercial Vehicles must have Speed Limiter from Jan 1

Imported Commercial Vehicles must have Speed Limiter from Jan 1, says FRSC

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has demanded that all commercial vehicles imported into Nigeria as from January 1, 2017 must be fitted with speed limiting device.

The agency corps Marshall, Boboye Oyeyemi, who made the demand during a visit to the headquarters of Kaduna State Command, said the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) had written to all vehicle importers in the country to comply with the directive.

Oyeyemi represented by FRSC’S head of operations, deputy corps Marshall Ojeme Erudjakpor, said this would reduce the costs of bringing in vehicles into the country and be forced to spend, again, to install the device.

He said some commercial vehicles being imported were already fitted with the device and such needed to be calibrated.
