Buhari calls for accountability by public officials

The Presidency says its dialogue with major stakeholders in the Niger Delta on how to end Militants attacks on oil facilities is still ongoing

Petroleum Minister of State, Doctor Ibe Kachikwu, gave the indication in an interview at the end of the 2016 convocation ceremony of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, near Warri,

The Minister dismissing reports that the dialogue has broken down, said President Muhammadu Buhari was very supportive of an agreement that is sustainable.

He said the president does not want the same model of agreement that failed after four months and militants are back to the creeks.

Kachikwu said Buhari is considering a long term model he presented to him which encompasses short, long term solutions, engagement and inclusiveness of the communities.
