Ekiti State APC has accused governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State of plotting the defection of Governor Ayodele Fayose from PDP into the party.
Aregbesola speaking in Ado Ekiti on the invitation of governor Fayose on the occassion of activities marking 20 years of Ekiti State creation, had described Fayose as a reliable person who has transformed the state.
The Osun State Governor then said sooner or later, there would be a realignment of political forces.
The governor at the event complained that the biting economic problem was such that in the whole of the South-West geopolitical zone, only Lagos State could stand on its own.
He canvassed regional integration and cooperation as well as the revival of agriculture as some of the steps to ameliorate the situation.
The APC expressed worry that Aregbesola at the event described Fayose as omoluabi and a hardworking governor who had turned around the fortunes of Ekiti State in terms of infrastructure.
Ekiti State APC spokesman, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said the Party was embarassed by Aregbesola’s comment, vowing that such realignment of forces or admission of Fayose into APC will not materialize in the State.
