EFCC picks up Reuben Abati

Operatives of the economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC) have picked up Mr Reuben Abati, former special adviser to former president Goodluck Jonathan on media, for alleged official corruption.

Sources said Abati was arrested Monday afternoon and taken to the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Abuja.

The sources said he was being quizzed over money he allegedly collected from former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who is also facing trial over the disbursement of the $2.5 billion arms procurement fund.

He spent the night at the EFCC Headquarters.
