Customs seize smuggled rice worth N600bn The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has seized rice worth N597.7 billion brought into the country through the borders between January and august this year. The worth of the commodity confiscated during the period was higher when compared with N330.5 billion value of the good seized in the same period in 2015. The agency Spokesman, Wale Adeniyi, who made this known in Abuja said that the increase in the seizures was partly due to the working relationship with Republic of Benin Customs which facilitated the spate of confiscation of rice along the borders between both countries.
